How often should I wash my car?
Weekly. Washing your car once a week will ensure that your vehicle's surface is being cared for properly.

It just rained or snowed, so why do I need to wash my car?
This is a critical time to protect your vehicle's finish. Pollutants such as sulfuric and nitric acids from automobile, truck and factory exhaust become trapped in the raindrops or snow flakes that settle on your car. The sun will evaporate the water and leave behind concentrated acid that can damage your car's finish.

What is Hydro-Pel?
Hydro-Pel is applied to your vehicle to Protect Glass and Painted Surfaces so water can be repelled off the surface, similiar to Rain-X. Applying Hyrdo-Pel to your vehicle will help protect it against rust, and allow rain and snow to bead off the glass and paint. Hydro-Pel also creates an exceptional luster for a one-of-a-kind shine. The more you wash with Hydro-Pel, the better your vehicle will shine!

Will the car wash brushes scratch my car?
No. Southland Auto Wash uses Neoglide to clean your vehicle. Neoglide is a patented foam system, which will not hold water or dirt, and will improve the shine on your vehicle.

Do you use recycled water?
Southland is working with Aqua Chem and Qual Chem to develop a state of the art Water Reclaim System. This system will recycle up to 90% of the water in the carwash. The reclaim system will take dirty water, and put it through an extensive filtering process - the result is virtually drinking water. We are excited about this system because it saves water, and is one of the first reclaim systems that produces water that is as fresh as city water.
Southland has partnered with Aqua Chem and Qual Chem to develop cutting edge Water Reclaim Technology. Our system cleans and freshe ns the wash water so completely that it’s hard to distinguish from fresh water. This exciting breakthrough allows us to conserve millions of gallons of fresh water annually.

I have the protective coating on my undercarriage so why do I need the undercarriage treatment?
Our undercarriage treatment removes salt, sand, and other road contaminants that are present year round. The undercarriage of your car also takes tremendous punishment from small stones that are kicked up by your tires. These stones bombard the undercarriage and nick your undercarriage's protection and may expose bare metal. Once rust gets a foothold it will spread regardless of the protection.

The person I bought my car from said I never have to wax my car?
This is a common misconception. Newer cars have a type of paint finish called clear coat. Clear coat is susceptible to the effects of rain, snow, salt, bird droppings, and other environmental pollutants. Therefore, the clear coat finishes need to be cared for. Southland Auto Wash uses clear coat safe sealants and polishes both in our car wash applications as well as in our Express Detail process. These products are designed to work with your vehicle's finish to help preserve its life and keep it looking new for many years.

Will the wax from the car wash streak the outside of my windows?
| The sealants and waxes we use won't streak the outside of your windows. However, grease and oil can get trapped underneath your wipers, which can cause the rainbow like streaks you may see on your window.

What is acid rain?
When rain or snow falls it captures environmental pollutants from factory, automobile and truck exhaust. The sun heats and evaporates the water but leaves behind concentrated acid spots which cannot be removed. Prevention is the key here. Keep a good coat of wax on the finish and wash your car, especially after a rain or snowstorm.
